Cleaning Company Review

Twinkle Cleaners are an excellent end of Tenancy cleaning company ... during our check out the inventory clerk commented on how exceptionally clean the flat was and that it was one of the fastest check outs he'd ever had to do! I'd highly recommend this company.5stars

Soho history

I think it goes without saying that music has always been integral to Soho; the Café de Paris and the Hippodrome regularly featured American jazz artists in the 30s, and 20 years later Ronnie Scott’s, now one of the world’s most famous jazz venues, opened to great acclaim.

Let’s not forget that the popular The Marquee Club on Wardour Street witnessed early performances from David Bowie, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin and many others, which in turn earn’t itself the deserved reputation of being the most important venue of its kind perhaps in Europe.

Soho Square, St Anne’s Churchyard Garden and Golden Square are just a few of the outside green spaces which can be found in Soho.

It wouldn’t be just to not talk about the sex industry when discussing Soho’s history! In 1959 prostitution was made illegal, leading to “walk-ups”, and ironically the trade boomed in the decades that followed.

In the 80s the first gay bars started appearing, and Old Compton Street today is still the city’s main gay district, despite Vauxhall coming up a close second with its many late opening nightclubs. One of Soho’s saddest moments came in 1999 when neo-Nazi David Copeland nail bombed the Admiral Duncan, killing three people, one of whom was pregnant, and injuring around 80.
